Pub-talks “Religion in the public sphere” Mondays at 7pm
Must religious voices keep quiet in public places? Does fairness in a pluralistic society exlude religious perspectives? Is a religious argument necessarily unreasonable? These are just some of the questions we would like to address. Please join us at the Elephant & Castle (10314 Whyte Avenue) Mondays at 7pm.
May 13: special guest retired Bishop Don Sjoberg

Ladies, our next meeting is May 13 at 7:00pm. We are joining the pub-talks, so come to the Elephant & Castle!

Radical Welcome…an invitation to discuss (and a challenge to read)
At the annual general meeting in March, Trinity decided “to become a radically welcoming community”. But what does this mean? We want to “welcome” everybody to a discussion around this question.
Church Council has begun to study the book Radical Welcome by Stephanie Spellers. It provides a scriptural foundation, as well as examples from a number of churches who are working on being radically welcoming communities. We invite (and challenge) you all to read this book in parallel with Church Council, and to think about it prayerfully. We will dedicate our blog to responses to the book – check it often and post your comments, too!
First challenge: Read and reflect on pages 1–60 until May 28, 2013, the day when Council will talk about these pages. As you read and reflect, join our discussion on the blog. [The book is available at local and online booksellers (Amazon price: $13.49). If you would like us to order a copy for you, contact the church office by May 9.]

Our April newsletter is available – please pick it up from your mailbox or find a spare copy in the atrium.
